HEAT STRESS INFORMATION

Heat Stress Information..................

Heat Exhaustion Symptoms Heat Stroke Symptoms
Early
.....• Dizziness....headache....dry mouth
.....• nausea....muscle cramps/spasms

Later
.....• Weak and/or rapid pulse
.....• Confusion, unresponsive, coma
.....• Loss of bowel or bladder control
.....• Convulsions
.....• Pale face
.....• Dizziness, faintness/weakness
.....• Nausea or vomiting
.....• Profuse sweating or moist, cool skin
.....• Normal body temperature

WASTE NO TIME-Call "911" for an ambulance
Treat for shock, lay person down with feet
elevated in a shady or cool area.

Give victim sips of water and fan them.
Early
.....• Dizziness
.....• Headache
.....• Strong, rapid pulse
.....• High body temperature (hot to the touch)
.....• Altered mental status
.......(abnormal behavior/unconsciousness)
.....• Hot skin (wet or dry)
.....• Red face/Skin


Later
.....• Death

WASTE NO TIME-Call "911" for an ambulance
Commandeer a vehicle if necessary.
Take to hospital Emergency Room, WHMC.

Cool person's body as much as possible
during transport to the hospital.
